Optional to have your kids join you in this class! Gnocchi is an easy enough dish to help make with your kids. Join Francesca, and her 3 year old daughter, Agata, as they teach us how to make this classic Italian dish. Grab your ingredients and we'll see you in the kitchen!

Ingredients Needed (Serves 4-5):

  • 2 lbs Yellow Potatoes (preferably old and mashed prior to class*)
  • 2 Cups 00 Flour
  • 1 ¼ Cups of Pecorino cheese
  • 1 ¼ Cups of Parmesan cheese
  • Cracked Black Pepper

*Mashed Potatoes:1 hour before class, prepare the potatoes by boiling in hot water for about 45 minutes. To check if the potatoes are ready, stick a fork into the potato in boiling water and make sure it’s soft all the way through. Once ready, stain the potatoes and peel and mash with a masher or fork. The potatoes should be hot at the time of peeling/mashing.

  • Gnocchi board (optional)

Chef Francesca is the owner of Pasta Shop Pastificio Irma in Milan, Italy. Originially opened in 1959, Francesca began her culinary career there under the mentorship of Irma. Francesca eventually bought the pasta shop and has been running just as when it first opened in 1959 with the same equipment and fresh ingredients. Pastifico Irma is known in Milan for its handmade tortellini and their cooking classes.
