ABOUT CHEF NATE NORRIS

Nate Norris earned a degree in Culinary Arts at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He began his professional career there working under Chef Georges Perrier at Brasserie Perrier. He moved to San Francisco in 2002, joining Chef Melissa Perello at Charles Nob Hill as her sous chef, before starting at Zuni Café in 2004 as a cook under chef-owner Judy Rodgers. Nate worked closely with Judy for a decade as a student of her perfectionism and vision of honest, local, seasonal food.  Nate now carries on the tradition of excellence at Zuni Café under chef-owner Gilbert Pilgram, Judy’s long-time friend and business partner.

ABOUT MERIC LONG FROM THE DODOS

Songwriter and performer Meric Long started The Dodos with drummer Logan Kroeber in 2006.  The Dodos began performing in San Francisco while Meric was working as a line cook at Zuni Cafe and the song "Chickens" off of their 2006 debut "Beware of the Maniacs" is in reference to the Zuni Roasted Chicken for which the restaurant is known for.  After widespread critical acclaim for their sophomore effort "Visiter" in 2008 Meric left Zuni and the band toured incessantly for the next 10 years, releasing seven records and playing countless venues all over the world including several performances on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.  The Dodos are currently finishing up their eighth record which is planned to be released in 2021.
