Baja Fish Tacos

Let us take you to Mexico City and show you how to make proper tacos! Get your ingredients ready and join us for a Zoom virtual cooking class. Video on is recommended but not mandatory. You'll be muted upon entry, can interact and ask questions via chat or by unmuting yourself.
INGREDIENTS (serves 3-4)

8-10 corn tortillas
2 white fish fillet, no skin, already despined* (i.e. merluzzo, branzino)
6-8 peeled and deveined shrimp (optional)
1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp of baking powder (optional)
½ cup (120ml) beer of your choice (room temperature)
salt (or garlic salt) and pepper to taste
frying oil (enough to deep fry your fish, amount varies depending on pan size)
1 purple cabbage
2 limes or 1 lemon
*Vegetarian substitution: you can replace fish with 350g of fresh mushrooms or vegetables of your choice (i.e. broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini)
Best when prepared 2 days in advance but we will be making it together
1/4 red onion
1 habanero pepper or any other fresh spicy pepper of your choice
2 oz (60 ml) white vinegar
salt & pepper to taste
2 ripe tomatoes
1 jalapeño (optional)
1/2 white or red onion
1 bunch of cilantro
2 lemons or 4 limes
2 serrano peppers or jalapeño (optional)
1 cup (240ml) of water
1-2 hot peppers (dry or fresh)
1 tablespoon of sour cream
1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
1 teaspoon of mustard
1 garlic clove
blender (for the traditional salsa)

She had the opportunity to study at the National School of Mexican Gastronomy in Mexico City. She has successfully hosted Mexican Cooking Experiences since 2017 in person & online. Her Mexican Salsas Experience is listed as 20 of the Best Experiences in Latin America by BuzzFeed. Has also been featured in the L.A. Times and Hoy Los Ángeles.
