EVENT DETAILS
The Slow Food USA Food and Farm Policy Steering Committee is hosting a virtual panel discussion addressing the historical inequities of federal agricultural policy as it affects Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and beginning farmers and ranchers and how those inequities can be addressed in the next Farm Bill. Â Â
This panel discussion will assess the effectiveness of existing programs and focus on BIPOC and beginning farmer issues of equity and inclusion that must be addressed in the next Farm Bill if we are to finally achieve foodways that are good, clean and fair for all. The panel will consider the successes and failures of past legal action, legislation, executive action, and existing programs and the opportunities afforded by future legislation. Our goal is to educate Slow Food supporters and engage them in policy advocacy in support of a Farm Bill that is fair to all producers.
