EVENT DETAILS
Gold and silver ingots were once used as currency in ancient China. This boiled dumpling recipe molds the dumplings into the shape of an ingot and is believed to bring you material and spiritual wealth! The filling contains ingredients that help you stay warm in cold weather and that boost circulation. It is a super fun dish to make with a group of friends and family! Makes 15-20 dumplings
- Round white dumpling wrappers
- 8 oz ground beef or lamb (for a vegan option, use extra firm tofu and/or Beyond meat)
- ½ cup chopped Chinese chives or scallion
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ½ cup finely chopped yellow onion
- ¾ cup chopped mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons Chinese five-spice powder
- ½ teaspoon ground white or black pepper
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 splash of cooking wine
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil

ABOUT CHEF ZOEY GONG
Born in Shanghai, China, Zoey started her journey as a healer. She was determined to learn about the power of natural remedies as a breast cancer survivor, and having to deal with constant skin rashes, amenorrhea, and joint pain. She moved to New York in 2015, and since then earned a B.S. in nutrition and public health from New York University, a 200-hr yoga instructor certification, a Meridian Yoga Therapy certification, her registered dietitian (R.D.) certificate, and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Sciences. Passionate about discovering different cultures, Zoey has travelled to nearly 30 countries, incorporating various traditions into her cooking and treatments. With an eye for beauty and cultural heritage, Zoey is dedicated to modernizing Traditional Chinese Medicine, making it a relevant and practical lifestyle for all. Besides TCM and cuisine, she paints and designs jade jewelry.
