Original Aperol Spritz

0

A classic with no time, the essence of Italian philosophy: enjoy life, and an aperitivo with friends.

The origins of Spritz as a cocktail dates back to the eighteenth century, when the Austrian emperor was ruling in Northern Italy. During those times, the Austrian soldiers had the chance to taste Italian wines. It wasn’t a happy meeting. For the Austrians, the Italian wines were way too strong and bitter.

As a way to make the wines more pleasant and drinkable, the Austrians decided to add some sparkling water. The german verb “spritzen” means indeed “to sprinkle”. Wite wine, sparkling water and a bitter basic wine licor. This is the origin of the Austrian-Italian Spritz.

A note on measurements

We work with chefs from all around the world, which is why we include both imperial (cups/ounces) and metric (grams) measurements. To achieve best results, we highly recommend that you utilize a kitchen scale and follow the metric measurements when possible.

Fill your wine glass with ice (it must be full).

Use the jugger to measure 6 cl of Aperol, and add the spirit as a base for your drink. Add 9 cl of Prosecco and 3 cl of Schweppes soda. Gently stir with the help of a long spoon.

Garnish with one slice of orange and serve your Aperol Spritz. Cheers!
